Solely responsible for all aspects of ongoing development and support of Enhanced Provincial 9-1-1 ANI/ALI system in both British Columbia and Alberta.
  • Provided real-time delivery of 9-1-1 caller information to over 100 call answer centers in two provinces.
  • Designed and maintained database that stored 9-1-1 customer information for both Alberta and British Columbia, including management of continuous updates from various exchange carriers and wireless service providers.
  • Designed and maintained statistical reports of 9-1-1 information made available to municipalities and call answer centers.
  • Designed and maintained two independent web portals written in ASP .NET; one to service municipalities, telephone service providers, and call answer centers external to TELUS, and the other to service internal TELUS customers.
Accomplishments
  • Converted 9-1-1 ANI/ALI software from OpenVMS Alpha to OpenVMS IA64 platform.
  • Designed and supported a Microsoft SQL Server database and a multi-threaded client/server Windows service application written in C# to collect 9-1-1 caller information for troubleshooting and statistical information.
  • Brought in major 9-1-1 enhancements: Wireless phone GPS location information delivery, and 9-1-1 call answer center wireless phone current location update request months ahead of schedule and under budget.
  • Completely redesigned and developed two major 9-1-1 web portals in ASP .NET running under Microsoft Internet Information Services.
  • Leveraged knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server tables, views, and indexes to reduce long running monthly 9-1-1 statistical reports from over 8 hours processing time to less than 10 minutes.
